OSA Virtual Learning System

The Oklahoma Sheriffs' Association has formed a partnership with Louisiana State University to offer training opportunities direct to the Sheriff's office. The association has been working on a way to bring training to our members at no cost for years. We know you cannot always send deputies and detention staff to Oklahoma City or Tulsa for the training offered by the OSA. Through this partnership with LSU they can receive that training. Classes will not be more than 8 hours per session and will most likely be 2-4 hour sessions, that way an employee can come to work pickup 2-4 hours of training and still be able to work a shift. This is not DVD or pre recorded training sessions you will learn from a live instructor that you can interact with.

The virtual learning system offers high caliber training through a secure internet connection which can be viewed on your desktop, laptop or HD televisions at your office. After you register for the training session you will receive an email from NCBRT/LSU. The email contains a link as seen below:

To join the session, click on the Join Session link.

Enter your Elluminate Live! Manager login name and password.

You may join the session 15 minutes prior to the start time.

To add a session to your calendar, click on the Add to Calendar link.
 
If this is the first time you will be using Elluminate, you may be prompted to download some software which may take anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes depending upon your Internet connection speed. You can pre-configure your system with the required software by going to the support page located at: http://www.elluminate.com/support/  <http://www.elluminate.com/support/>

Please make sure your computer has a microphone and speakers to be able to talk and hear while you are in the Elluminate session.

All training sessions offered by the OSA will be CLEET accredited. Each agency participating in the training session will receive a CLEET roster from the OSA. either by email or fax. The CLEET roster will need to signed by the Sheriff, Undersheriff or designee to attest that the individuals attended the training.

 

As training session become available we will post them on this page and the news and events page. We will also send out emails and faxes of the trainings. We hope that you will take advantage of the Virtual Learning training it is the most cost efficient means by which your staff can receive quality training beneficial to your department.
